In the jungle, it's hard to find the attributes that are considered "leadership qualities". Ideas like integrity and empathy don’t necessarily play out in a predator/prey environment.
The abilities that make leaders are found by exploring 4 aspects of their character: 1. Personal integrity; 2. Effective communications; 3. A heightened capacity to analyze situations; 4. Working well with others. (06'35")

Changes in both Ecology and Economy are having huge impacts on our way of being. A real need exists in these jungle times for good governance - including fair, transparent, and accountable decision-making in the management of our public resources.
Managing that sacred trust requires teams who are free from corruption and who have a healthy respect for the rule of law. (16'00")

The ancient leaders of America wrote in stone - on steles and on structures - everything that we need to know about leadership, creative intelligence and personal power. The Olmec sorcerer/scientists recorded in stone the myth of Quetzalcoatl.
Here your host Lawrence Poole explains how 5 totem animals can guide human beings on how to be a great leader. The animals are the Coatl – or water serpent; the Noble Jaguar; the Congo – or Howler Monkey; the Eagle; and the Resplendent Quetzal. (09'58")

Research shows us that some animals are very intelligent. They can not only recognize abstract concepts - like when things are similar or different - but they'll recognize themselves in a mirror or a photo.
The difference between animal and human intelligence is that humans not only can learn new subjects, but we can increase our overall intelligence, our IQ. Learn how.

Ocean Strategies
Tuesday Mar 31, 2026
Tuesday Mar 31, 2026
The book "Blue Ocean Strategies" was written by W. Chan Kim and Renée Mauborgne. Their book uses the term "ocean strategies" to describe the marketplace. It says that the usual market that most of us know and explore is the "Red Ocean Market" - this because it is being bloodied by the competition.
The authors describe new marketplaces as Blue Ocean, and they assert that no company can prosper by only sailing Red Ocean waters.
Podcaster Lawrence Poole does not see the market as one solid mass. Rather he sees a series of market niches that can join together in common interests for mutual gain. Poole tells creative leaders how they can sail Blue waters.
He also reveals the 9 ways that markets niche. (10.27)

#20 - On the Nature of Conspiracy Theories
Monday Feb 24, 2025
Monday Feb 24, 2025
If you consider that the last thing someone involved in a crime wants you to do is to examine his or her doings more closely. Labelling such evil-doers as conspiracy theorists allows them to cloud the issues.
They denigrate people who can see their criminality by suggesting we are lunatics. They thus shift the focus from the crime to the accuser.
In this Episode I tell you what you need to know about protecting yourself from the bad and stupid people who conspire against us. (47'49")

You will need 2 qualities to successfully navigate life: Courage and self-confidence.
In this presentation I demystify those ideas and tell you how to acquire the two qualities. I'll also explain 4 kinds of courage and then distinguish between self-confidence as a character trait, and confidence when taking up a challenge or performing a task.
Last, in order to fully explain these ideas, I'll tackle the subjects of love as self-esteem, and persistence, as they are related to them. (36'35"

#18 SELF-empowerment (Part 2 - Our Sphere of Awareness)
Thursday Jun 06, 2024
Thursday Jun 06, 2024
We humans have a sphere of awareness that is reacting to life's circumstances and events. However, we can also be co-creative with life itself.
To do this, learn how to manage the random knowledge that you've acquired, because it ties you to your past. Also, manage how you experience life as this links you to the present, and use your intuitive knowledge as it guides you to your ideal future. Invest, then, in your creative capital.
